Skyrr: Diverse services, dynamic operations
The companies Eskill, Kögun, Landsteinar Strengur and Skýrr have been merged into one company, which will operate under the last company's name: Skýrr. These four IT companies are in the ownership of the holding comany Teymi. The company merger under the name of Skýrr is effective immediately, the 18th of November 2009.Mr. Gestur G. Gestsson has been hired as CEO for the consolidated company. Mr. Gestsson comes to Skýrr from Vodafone in Iceland where he served as Chief Technology Officer .
The owners of Teymi have long been planning to bring together the great resources which exist within the IT companies of Teymi. The merger decision was made after due consideration. The company merger is not an abatement process brought on by business difficulties, but on the contrary a progressive effort aimed at creating the strongest IT company in Iceland.
The company merged from Eskill, Kögunar, Landsteinar Strengur and Skýrr has around 320 employees and the budgeted turnover for 2009 is around 5 billion ISK. The company's professionals and specialists provide diverse software solutions and IT services to over 3 thousand Icelandic companies.
All interests of customers and partners will be safeguarded carefully during the merger. The company merger does not have any effect on current contracts and services will not be restricted in any way. On the contrary, the merger will broaden and expand the range of solutions and services available at Skýrr. We will continue to operate in accordance with the internationally certified quality and security standards ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.

Since Skyrr offers such a broad range of IT products and services it operates in most of the markets for IT services in Iceland. Skyrr's main focus is however on big corporations with 500+ employees and mid-size companies with 50-500 employees.Skyrr has been successful through the years in winning big government tenders for both specialized software development and off-the-shelf financial and HR solutions. Skyrr developed many of the IT systems the Icelandic customs and tax authorities use. In 2001 the company was chosen by the Icelandic state to implement the Oracle E-Business Suite for all of its 520 institutions.
